Fish & Tenderloin Fry

Avon Optimist Club fish-fryThe Avon Optimist Club will be hosting their annual Fish Fry which has been held annually since the 1960’s on July 14, 15, & 16, 2016. And thanks to Hendricks Regional Health, the Fish Fry will be located in front of the HRH facility in Avon in the south west parking lot (where the Avon Farmer’s Market is held).

Continuous serving will begin at 11 AM each day and continue till about 9 PM. The menu will include fish, tenderloins, hotdogs, french fries, onion rings, cole slaw, baked beans, & other items. Elephant Ears will available each evening.

Volunteers from Distinguished Young Women, Project A.N.G.E.L., Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and the Central Indiana Woodworkers will be assisting Avon Optimists at the Fish Fry.
All proceeds from the Fish Fry are used for youth oriented projects in the Avon community. None of the funds are used to run the club. Over the past five years, over $20,000 has been re-invested in the Avon community in the form of youth projects. The Club regularly donates to Handicapable Camp, AJAA, Sheltering Wings, & Project A.N.G.E.L. This year we are sponsoring two candidates in the Distinguished Young Women scholarship pageant. Also, the club has awarded two $2000 scholarships to Avon High School graduates: Megan Cox and Jasmine Stone.

In partnership with the Central Indiana Woodworkers, five hundred wooden toys were donated to Project A.N.G.E.L. for distribution to children at Christmas time. Wooden toys were also donated to the Avon/Washington Township Library for childrens’ use while at the Library. And wood plaques were presented to the Handicapable Camp for campers to decorate during their camp experience.

The Avon Aerial Orioles will be showing off their rope jumping skills on Friday evening. And the Avon Jazz Band will be performing on Saturday evening. Other entertainment is being considered.

Come and enjoy sitting under the big tent. Talk to your neighbors while enjoying the BEST Fish Fry food in Indiana.
