Avon Shopping: Avon Commons Offers Something for Everyone

Avon, Indiana, a small suburb to the west of Indiana state capital Indianapolis, is a family friendly little town that is a comfortable haven for members of the Indianapolis business community to rest their heads. Avon shopping is nothing compared to the motley offerings of Indianapolis shopping malls, but this satellite community does have a few tricks up its sleeve for dedicated shoppers.

The brightest star in Avon shopping is Avon Commons, a modern shopping mall that was built in 2005. Avon Commons is the home of a variety of Avon businesses and retail chain stores, including OfficeMax, Barnes & Noble, Linens N Things, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Bath and Body Works, and more. Located just off of Rockville Road, Avon Commons is a major symbol of downtown Avon’s economic and population explosion.

Other than Avon Commons, there aren’t too many high profile shopping areas in Avon. It is, of course, home to several big box stores like Best Buy and Lowes, and there are several locally owned Avon businesses, like Apollo Outdoor Custom Designs, Sheri’s Bags, and Vacuums and More. Generally, if residents want to go out and buy something special, they’ll drive just a few miles to downtown Indianapolis for something truly memorable.
